I met the wonderful Bec in my due in group while pregnant with my own twins and and proud to call this super mum a friend of mine. Together with my lovely friend Rachelle Edwards Photography, we photographed Bec’s precious new twin babies Emilia & Ezekiel. They were simply amazing during there session and are absolutely adorable. I thoroughly enjoyed having cuddles with them. And what can I say, Shell and I always make a great team.
Here are a few words from Bec about becoming a twin mum.
“Going in for a scan at 6 weeks pregnant, I knew something wasnt right with my pregnancy. I assumed it meant my baby wasnt viable and I wouldnt be getting good news. Unfortunately my partner had just started a new job so I was on my own for it.
Laying on that bed the last thing i expected the sonographer to say was
“do twins run in your family? Because i can see two.”
I started laughing and simply couldnt stop. 4 kids was do-able. 5 was pure insanity. The pregnancy was hard, with hyperemisis, hips that kept dislocating, low blood pressure and hydro-nephrosis towards the end. But 30 weeks to the day after that scan i gave birth to my gorgeous twins at 36 weeks and 3 days gestation. Ezekiel weighed in at a healthy 6p10 ounces, followed by his sister Emilia at 5p 4 ounces. Our family was complete with their arrival and life hasnt been the same since. Being a mum to multiples as well as 3 singletons is hard. It feels like some days we are barely keeping up with it all, no matter how hard we try. But there is also such a feeling of privilege. I feel privileged that i was one of the lucky ones to be chosen to be a mum, even more so to be a mum to twins.” -Bec
